New Looks

About the new looks for sims in World Adventures. There are quite a few new hairstyle for woman, sorry, we had forgotten to take a look at man’s hair. There’s a style of Cleopatra with different color beads And cute short curly hair for France. And the so-call Chinese hair style is these hairs with a bamboo cap, but the caps actually look more Vietnamess than Chinese. But they are exotic looking.

For clothes, I think there are new tops, and dresses. I don’t remember seeing new bottoms. There are cute stripe French style tops and Chinese button down shirt. Also when a sim got some martial art skills, they can dress Chinese Kung-fu outfits in different color belts. As for Egyptian type of dresses, they are so sort of like robes. Sorry, I don’t really have much fashion sense.

And objects, as you can expect, are three different styles from China, Egypt and France. What I like the most are the four poster beds from French and Chinese. The Chinese four-poster bed is just like the one my grandma used to have. There are many different types of lamps; ceiling, wall, table and etc.

All these new objects, hairstyles and clothes have a mark on the side that tells you they are new things from World Adventures.

Building

For building, we checked the new roofs. There are Chinese style wind tipped roof, octagon roof and others. New colors for roof, but you still can’t change the colors like furniture or dresses. New style stairs which you can change the colors now, and we don’t understand why they won’t do the same for roofs.

Basement tool is quite easy to use. All you need to do is click on the basement tool and choose the area of your basement. Then you put a stair down, voila, it’s done. If you want to have more than one level of basement, just go to basement level and use the tool again. You won’t be able to use the arrow to move the walls out though, but you can move it in. But if it is too small you can always use the basement tool again to make it larger.

What I like about the basement for the Sims 3 is that it’s different from the Sims 2. With the Sims 2, if you want to see something in the basement, you need to tilted the angle and you never see everything clearly. But with the Sims 3, it’s just like on another floor. Whilst on the 2nd floor, you see the sky and views from the outside, but it’s dark where there’s no room at the basement levels.

Impressions

Each destination, is just like a new neighborhood, so, it is really big. When a sim wants to go from one place to another, it will take a long time. And most of the places can’t be reached by scooters or bicycles; therefore, sims have to run almost to everywhere. So, be prepared to wait for a long time, or park your finger on fast-forward key at lot. LOL

One more thing that I like a lot is sims can learn songs from the locals. There are 2 songs in each destination. It is very easy to learn and the songs are very nice too. When sims are bored or doing some mindless things, they will just sing the songs on their own.

I really like the aspects of learning new skills, beautiful scenery, having a lover or two in different destinations or marrying a local in the new expansion pack. But I guess I’m not an adventurous kind of girl, The Sims are the only games I’ve ever played. So, I am not totally excited about the adventures. But it is still great fun and I just can’t wait to get my hands on my own copy.
