China

The next destination we went to was China.  The music again, was lovely.  The animation started with the Great Wall of China and into a village with beautiful looking Chinese architecture surrounded by magnificent looking mountain area.  It really is beautiful, but it’s China in the old days.  Haha.  Don’t expect seeing real China like this now though.  I thought I was watching Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon.  LOL

We went to the Dragon Cave to explore, and it was kind of easy. No really surprise when exploring the cave. But the scenery was wonderful. When learning martial arts, you do it with a wooden stand, like the one you can see in Bruce Lee’s movies. Your sim will just practice with the wooden stand. When you have the skill, they can practice fighting with other sims who also have martial art skills. While they are fighting, your sims will also earn skill points, but in the end you will get a window telling you who wins the fight.

We bought a firework from the shop, it costed 75 Simoleon if I’m not mistaken. And when the sim light it up, you can go to the town view to see the firework. It was just one time, so if you want to have a beautiful firework like the one in the trailer. You might need to buy quite a few and have a few sims light them up all together at the same time.

Egypt

The last destination we went to was Egypt. It wasn’t because I don’t like Egypt. It was just we have already seen lots of screenshot and stories about them. That’s why it was in our last choice. Again, its exotic music was beautiful. And the pyramids, Sphinx and Ramesses II Temple are just breathtaking. I’ve never been to Egypt before, well, nor have I been to China and France. But these magnificent landmarks have been placed on this expansion pack, they made me feel like I was there, looking at them. They look especially beautiful at night, with lights hitting on them. I just couldn’t take my eyes away.

We went on quite a few adventures in Egypt. There are lots of pushing and pulling of statues to the traps; fire traps, electric shot traps and arrow traps. Some sims weren’t afraid of them, and they could do a back flip and fly over the traps. Some of them were really afraid and would not go passing them. But you can disarm the traps though. Even though there were quite a few puzzles, but they weren’t too difficult.

We did see a mummy, but it didn’t came out on its own. It came out when our sim was checking their casket, not sure what it’s called, for treasure. And a mummy came out and walked really, really slowly. So sims can actually out run them if they want. But we wanted to see what happened when they fight. It was just like 2 sims fighting. And of course, my sim lost. But our sim wasn’t cursed or anything. After the fight, the mummy went back to its casket.

When your sims are in Egypt, they can become Snake Charmer. You can purchase the basket with a snake from the grocer. My sim played a music instrument to hypnotize a snake, but she played it terribly. If I were the snake, I definitely would have bitten the sim. The animation was quite interesting, but it was the same every time the sim did it. It didn’t get better or worse. We aren’t sure if sims with musical skill will do a better job.
